Love & Dead Hearts
Love is for love's sake
a business betwixt lover and beloved
expect not love between a shopkeeper
and his innocent customer
betwixt a butcher and the victim
between a judge and an accused
enemies engaged in war
a policeman on his duty
there's love everywhere
all the time
but not in dead hearts
and souls hardened to stone.
