Love Does Not Measure By Distance - Poem by Rachel Tam

At times I wonder where you are,
But I know that you've gone very far.
Upon the beautiful, starry, moon,
I wish you'd return home very soon.
For I wish badly to see you,
To witness our love that's true.
Forever and always I'm there,
No matter how, no matter where.
I'll always remember you dear,
And I hope that you will hear:
'I love you, I love you, I love you',
And tell me, 'I love you, too'.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This is a poem written from the perspective of a soldier's fiancee, who wishes everyday for the soldier to return home. The poem is written to a soldier, Major Johnathan Crook. However, the poem is not based on any real-life scenarios nor is this really a poem written from his fiancee to him.
