Love Don'T Live Here Anymore Poem by Christopher Cofield

Love Don'T Live Here Anymore

Rating: 5.0

My bags are packed and at the foot of the stairs, all my memories have been stored away, the last thing I do before I leave this house is say goodbye. I want one last look through the rooms to think about us, the wonderful life we shared in this place we called home - once. I remember the good and bad times but most of all I remember the love. We loved like no others with a bond to last a lifetime, or so we thought. When we planned our future, said our golden years would be spent side-by-side it was a dream - just a dream. What happened? Where'd we go incurably wrong? Is there nothing left? We shared a wonderful life in this house, this home. I have no regrets. But there is nothing left for me or you here - love don't live here anymore.

Interesting poem. I like how you bring memories into it to and then talk about how there is no love in that house anymore. good poem.

Excellent Poem Christopher. I too can relate to this poem. I am in a bind right now and am trying to slowly work my way out of it. It is sad but, life is to short to waste it. I think you made the right decision and it takes courage. Starting over is not easy. Excellent Poem. Take care.
