Love Eroded Poem by Keith Oliver

Love Eroded

A woman so loving
A man so lonely
Met together in passionate harmony

Opposite in many but common in more
They both came to adore
Simple things together
Love blooms forever

Holding hands with hope
Kissing with chance
Looking at fear
Of never being near

Sweep of her cheek
Makes me weak
Warmth of her care
With the smell of her luscious hair
Will make even the best of men, dare

Waves unfurl
As the sand washes away
I relate to this beach
As the ocean limits our time

Such beauty and form forever and for more
Can only complete in the saddest defeat
Wonder more but care no less
For I can feel the child of treachery
Smile wickedly at my ignorant soul

Regret is wrong
But what is right
I hold the last of this light
In this most devastating plight
