Love For Life Poem by Josh Alfred

Love For Life

Take this hand, upon thy hand
And find thee love, for which we stand
That I may know that which is true
If I only said I knew;
I'd believe the things you told me too.
For fairest are thee my love, and now
I know that thee have come on down
From heaven's doors you looked for a soul
To which to move, to which to control.
With every breath you stole my heart
With every motion you took me apart
And put me together with your own accord.
Took my love, my love again, and once more.
The towering peaks of loves full bloom
Arise like the sun at zenith, noon.
The eye of the look, so tender true
Took my soul through and through.
Again she says with utter truth
That I was found in love with youth
And we took it to our last days
With long look, and tender gaze.
Every moment you know as love in us
For once/to find our greatest trust.
Take not thy hand, for it is soon
That we will walk along till doom.
Stand true, walk with me
How much love can thy heart give me?
