Love Hurts - Poem by Toni Rumbel

I hate to turn up on your doorstep in the middle of the night
But I've just walked through a tunnel and found the light
Love is a monster and hurts so much
I didn't want to remember, but couldn't forget such

A lovely relationship that I had with you
I hope that you remember it too
I remember you saying yourself
That love becomes a book that lies on a shelf

Forgotten memories of long ago
It was only yesterday I saw you go
We were holding hands and singing
Happy about the love that we were bringing
