Love Is Truth Poem by Eric Maffettone

Love Is Truth

Love is truth, love is whole, if you love me, I give you my soul.

If it isn't meant to be, don't hesitate, you must live free, leave it to fate.

If you're seeking love, don't look straight, look beyond and above, you will find someone great.

I'm unable to understand, why I am so content, and at the same time, completely tormented.

When you are not near me, or in my arms, I start to feel pain, and become alarmed.

Are you alright, are you in pain, all I can think about, is keeping you from harms way.

There is so much left to learn, but so little left to do, You have fixed my heart, but all along you knew.

That I was in pain, I have to choose, as I have everything to gain, and nothing to lose.

You were all I ever wished, when I was thinking about you, I meant every word, when I said that love is true.

It's just not the same, without you in my arms, I keep repeating your name, and think of how you have been harmed.

If I could erase my past, and begin anew, there would be nothing I would change, as I just wanted to be with you.

This can't be it, when you say that you love me, and I felt hurt, because I couldn't see.

That you did love me, you meant it all, You were everything to me, and now I can hear your call.

My heart is mending slowly, all thanks to you, I cannot thank you enough, for your love through and through.

I love the way you laugh, and your beautiful eyes, I love the way you smile, as calming as the skies.

I care about you so, and new beginnings start here, I can't thank you enough, you have me now dear.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was going through a rough time, and took life for granted. The things I own, the support I had around me, and the one true love I ever had. Despite the fact that we never met in person, I never had a stronger relationship with any girl I have ever met. I took her for granted, and I regret it all. I hope she will give me a second chance. Even if she doesn't though, I won't forget everything she has done for me. A quote I decided for myself from this moment on.

'Whats done is done. You can't change what happened, but you can still repent. The past is over, the present remains, and the future has yet to come.'
