Love Never Conquers Anything Poem by Rachel Henley

Love Never Conquers Anything

The saddest love of all, is the one that
lives even though the reality is not there anymore.
We were real, in the way that we held and we feel.
Our bond, was unbreakable, breaking up, unthinkable.
God, love took me for a fool.
You have a taste of what you crave,
you have it linger for a few days,
but it's gone after a time.
Then for the rest of your days,
your years search for craves.
But your craving only settles for one.

The cruelest of dreams, bring you to the time,
where you believe, love, can conquer all,
no, love never conquers anything,
it, just, punishes, us, all.
