Love Of The Night Mistress Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Love Of The Night Mistress

Even at midnight
When there is none around
And the world is asleep,
Where from is the scent coming,
The wind carrying the wisps and whiffs
Of fair and lovely face creams,
Powders sprinkled,
Herbal hair oils applied on
Enchanting me, maddening me
And I from my room thinking
Of the night mistress going
Whoever be she
Wearing a black bespangled sari
Embroidered with stars,
Sticking jasmines into her tresses
And passing by unawares?
