Love Reincarnated… Poem by Bharat Trivedi

Love Reincarnated…

Last night,
while I and sleep
were busy playing hide-and-seek,
blazing dew drops rained from the star-donned skies,
and shed aquamarine tears for the whole night,
when our love was about to die!

Stars lost their glitter and flowers shun their scent and hues.
Frosted moonlight penetrated my dreamy eyelids.
Crumbling pieces of my broken heart
lay etched in chasms of my chest,
when our love was about to die!

After a billion blandishments,
vagrant moon was fortunate
to have slept with night,
holding her tight
while stars winked at them till dawn,
and my tear-blurred dreams lay awake
shivering on frigid sobbing sheets,
when our love was about to die!

As ache turned agonizing,
my soul sought to sleep under
the serene shade of your silky tresses
while my heavy heart’s solitude composed
a sad etude of wilderness,
when our love was about to die!

Waves of emotion flood the dry eyes,
while tears and smiles rocked back and forth
on the pendulum of treacherous time.
but I have not shed transitory tears,
though our love had to die
but it has reincarnated -
in form of this chaste poem…
