Love Remains - Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Once happy with the life I was living
Now feeling I live in a vast oblivion
I never dreamt I could feel a love as deep as ours
Sending our hearts soaring high above the stars
How quickly things can change, in the blink of an eye
My soul depleted as I violently cry
Can you not see how much you mean to me?
Was I just dreaming what I wanted it to be?
Your voice that once consumed me has since been replaced
Now silence taunts me making my thoughts race
Back and forth I've searched my mind
It's always the same, your the greatest love I'll ever find
I don't want us to ever part
It would leave me here forever with a broken heart
I'd cross this crazy world for you
There is so much more things we have yet to do
Feel the love I have inside
Our feelings we should not have to hide
I'll do whatever it takes to turn this around
I promised from the start to never let you down
Somewhere through the pain I know our love remains
Say you'll give us one more try
Not ready to have to say that dreaded good-bye
