Love's Play Poem by Annie Ali

Love's Play

She was delicate, sublime and subdued
Believing in the power of pray
Dreaming, to be kept and cared
Like the sea holds the coral
In a magnificently special way

He was tender, caring and a pleasure craft
Love rested on his side-belt of emotions
As Charlemagne kept the Durendal for himself
He claimed to judge the best of love s wines
With just one delightful draught

Hathor had her eyes on her
Amor aimed his bow on him
Let the arrow pass through
Right in their hearts
Serving gods one way or the other

She Fell for him
He halted the fall
By holding her in his arms
Taking her into clouds of joy
Soaring high for heavens of intimacy
Where he d think she belonged

She the coral reef of her seas
Waved the joyous colors of her self
On every one win she made a pray
The touch of indifference started withering
Her every shade into pale and grey

He found his place in the skies
By getting what he promised to bring
A sublime heart and a subdued soul
From the deepest of the seas of life
Into the sacred pinnacles of skies

He roams around with the best of his skills
Along the coast of human shores
With a shiny armor full of pride
Halting falls, healing pains serving hearts
Adding value, bringing souls to his hills

She rests in peace in a monument of her own
Glorified like the Mumtaz of Taj Mahel
Love is playing well its Games
Bringing Sacrifices to the hills
Building monuments of every heart they own
