Love Sonnet 68: 'In Dreamland Waits, My Princess To Rescue'

In Dreamland waits my princess to rescue,
Imprisoned by a dragon that breathes fire,
Thor's hammer made there many midnight slew,
We caused more sleep than would Apollo's lyre;
Though Hermes' sandals took us in no time,
Dear Princess wanted a Stiletto style,
She said that fashion would then be sublime;
What if heeled sandals will make Hermes rile?
As monster birds might yet catch us in flight,
Brave Princess threw her clothes for diversion;
No trouble flying in the darkest night,
Except to land, amid a procession;
...So, to avert any landing drama,
...We declared she was... Lady Godiva.
