You came resplendent as the breaking dawn,
With promises of glory for the day,
My hopes, from all those rudiments were drawn,
That dreams will come and now are on their way;
If wishes soar beyond what life permits,
Why miserly with what's plenty and free?
If dreaming is a crime that one commits,
I could be in for gravest penalty;
But how else can the future be embraced?
Is not a flower pledged by bud that sprouts?
Then, too, love did proceed from sparks retraced
At first meeting, as all starts thereabouts;
.....To read the day by dawn is not amiss,
....As when assaying love by its first kiss.

Nice rhyme, nice flow... It just slides. Great!
