These moments merit best preservation,
In poems so composed with best of care,
Events will not again be actions done,
For nary Time remakes a past affair;
Perhaps, I might reread those rhymes someday,
That flaunt of sweet caress your touch imparts,
Once more relive the joys which filled that day,
Although by then, we’ve known some other hearts;
But mark that ours is love that Heaven blest,
Among the stars forever will be placed,
Polaris -like, distinct from all the rest,
Its memory can never be replaced;
…….But fools’ mementos would it be to keep,
…….While we are both still here with love so deep.
