Love Story Poem by Lost Soul

A smile all of a sudden takes over my face.
All those good times, replaying like an old tape.
Remembering those moments we had, thinking it had gone to waste.
You took my heart showering it with such love and grace.
For once in my life someone made my heart feel like it had a place.

Then one day my heart wakes, left on the side to hurt and ache.
I saw you run to other side of my world, ready to walk out of my door.
You stopped and slowly looked with my heart in hand.
Tore a piece to take with you for memory and the rest to the floor.
I closed my eyes, put my hands together and prayed for your return.


So many years passed and I was so close to giving up hope.
Too many open wounds from our past love, I would dream to cope.
Standing on the edge of my nightmare ready to fall forever.
I turned my head for the last time and saw a light on the other side.
With out hesitation I ran towards it hoping I would run into your arms.

As I got closer and closer the light started to dim.
I dropped to the floor, drowning in my tears. Then I took another look.
You walked in with a smile and your arms put out like an open book.
All of a sudden I placed my hand on my chest and I felt a heart beat.
It was finnaly happy and eased of its pain. Finnaly assured my love would never leave.
