Love Sustained By Memory (Shakespearean Sonnet) when Presence Fades And Days Poem by ashok jadhav

Love Sustained By Memory (Shakespearean Sonnet) when Presence Fades And Days

grow thin with ache,
Memory steps in to hold what time has torn;
In quiet thoughts, thy shape I still awake,
And feel thy nearness though thou art withdrawn.
Each recollection keeps our love alive,
A flame preserved where distance cannot tread;
Through what is lost, the heart continues strive,
Nourished by words once said and tears once shed.
The past becomes a refuge, warm and sure,
Not as escape, but proof of what has been;
For love remembered learns itself secure,
And draws new strength from moments unforeseen.
Thus memory stands where touch can reach no more,
And keeps love breathing on the farther shore.
