Love Will Come Again Poem by Venessa Ehiz

Love Will Come Again

yesterday
you were all over the place
you were in love and you didn't have to sound the alarm
you even got our throats itchy for party jollof rice
that you promised was coming soon

today
it is the wet tissues all over the place
a clear picture of your heart sent back home
with a luggage of memories
and no hope that you're returning
because the fire that brought warmth
is now nestling in ashes

tommorow
you know inspite of your good promises
to yourself
never to open the door of your heart
someone will yet push it ajar
so set your heart in order
because tomorrow you will
yet love again

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
They often say the cure for a venom bite is also from the venom. The source of every heartbreak is love bethrayed but the heart never tires to love anyway.
