Love Will Hurt - Poem by Stephen Page

Do not cry all the time,
No one will understand
And the pain will not cease.
The suffering is constant
In a world that is not perfect,
In which tears open our eyes.

If we ever grow up
We will forget the pain of youth,
And celebrate instead our fortune
As we see ourselves in our children -
And see a future and not the past.

The leaves cling to the tree
But one day they will fall
To feed the next generation.
Remember there is an end,
But do not forget your beginning
When the day is done.
Feel emotion if you must:
But do not mourn
The lives that must pass to dust.
