Love Will Remain Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

Love Will Remain

Still then very young I prayed for a chance
in the splendor of music when we danced
both our brown eyes staring at each other
need all the strong courage for me to gather

dreamlike state you escorted me to the floor
touching your hand my heart to the skies soar
need to be composed, emotions with all might
while dancing you said I'm such a beautiful sight
finally uttered how much you love me that night

In an instant, I can't accept love you offered
in all sadness, I thought this can not be real
love can't be forced and I fear of losing you
someday I will know if you really love me too..

years passed and now I see you again
surprised the love I've buried still remain
I still care for you but doubt still put strain
seeing you, my confidence I need to regain

this time with humiIity I will let you know
love I have for you is in my heart until now
please forgive me, emotions I can't control
your love still had me captive and enthralled

I'm not asking for you to love me in return
I just have this sincere need to let you know
that this heart's ardor until now still burn
My love will eternally and forever will remain
