Drawing me in
with promises of unity
Looking back now I know
it has damn near ruined me
Like sandcastles to tides,
crumbling out of existence
All that was built
is gone in an instant
No more will I build
these castles of sand
With shovel in pail
I start moving inland
One last handful of sand
I throw back to the sea
My tattered heart knows
It’s not you it’s just me
