Lovers Parted Poem by Dr. Ginny C. Wilson

Lovers Parted

Oh my darling, today is the day that we have parted.
You have left me feeling miserable and broken-hearted. Your bright smile and caring ways are gone.
You choose to go and leave me all alone. You know that I loved you so.
But you thought it best that you go. By chance we sometimes meet.
But I turn my head and go on down the street. For it is best if I pass you by.
Because I don't want you to se the tears in my eye. I'll always remember you and the times we had.
Losing you makes me so very sad. I hope that you will always remember me,
And cherish our forbidden love that could never be.
