Love's Betrayal Poem by Neil Davies

Love's Betrayal

Who do you think you are?
So right and so just.
Your voice, o so far,
Hurts like Winter's gust.

Your hair, and its curls,
Your radiant smile,
Took my mind for a whirl,
Always left me beguiled.

Together we had bloomed,
O, was it too soon?
Eternally, I am gloomed;
Incomplete, without you.

Your eyes once thought nice,
And blue as the sky,
Were nothing but ice,
That hid all of your lies.

Exchanging of falsehoods,
Under pretense of truth
All was real to me,
Was it fake to you?

When times were rough,
You were always with me.
But something wasn't enough,
Now alone, I can't sleep.

This throne has fell;
And though I am not dead,
This life is Hell,
Seeing Him in my stead.

To you, have this poem,
From my soul, it is written.
I can't call this home
Without our love, henceforth smitten.
