Loves Fear Poem by Emily Collins

Loves Fear

There is a fear that comes with falling in love
A relentless courage that one finds over and over
The one that falls in love still giving their all

My eyes adjusted when I met you
Like they had been clouded by shadows till you came around
My heart didn't skip a beat until you spoke
Like your words were meant for only me to hear
I let you pour yourself over me
All my trust, I gave it willingly to you
So then, why did your love burn my soul?
A liquid hot that burned every part of me
You left me with no way to put it out
To say I don't still feel the burn would be a lie
It's a forever scar hidden by unspoken words
There is a relentless courage that comes with falling in love
