Loves Release (I Close My Eyes) Poem by Rik Bertrand

Life can be mundane and without meaning
Love can be forgotten yet never forgiven.
There are times when feel the pure pains of loss,
And times when I question why I am still liven.

Then,
I close my eyes and I see the true meaning of love,
And I feel arms wrapping tightly around my body.
I can see Harmony and the meaning of body and soul,
And while being held so very close, I feel rhapsody.

The real world has left me blue and uncertain,
I do not always understand why life leaves me empty.
I lie in bed and cry myself to sleep, all but alone,
Knowing that love is out there waiting aplenty.

Then,
I close my eyes and my heart is set afire,
I am thrown into a world of spiritual bliss.
Time has no meaning and my smiles are endless,
As I realized this is where I want my life to exist.

The times are changing and I shall hold on for the finale,
I will survive as I continue to dodge the heartless knife.
My soul understands that it will carry on through time
But for me there is only one true world, and only one life.

So I will continue
I will continue to close my eyes as the times change,
And dream of pure righteousness, pure love, pure peace,
I will see the beauty of what will soon come to be,
And then open my eyes to the miracle of loves release.
