Loves Touch Poem by Rik Bertrand

Loves Touch

My life has been dampened by the lack of loving touch,
I cry in silence but I will not use my sorrow as a crutch.
I have become withered in life and my petals fall hard.
The love I have inside of me, I do not want to discard.

I search for an opening; I search for the loving touch
I do not want it all, I am not asking for so much.
A kiss in the night, a hug to feel right, a heart,
It all seems unreal, and worlds apart.

I look out into the world and know there is more,
There is someone for me that will melt my cold core.
Love is so fragile, yet it makes us all free,
And we all deserve some of it, it is life's decree.

My life had been dampened by the lack of the touch,
The loving and the cuddling, oh how I miss it so much.
I will keep searching for I know it is there,
I can't keep on living this life of despair.
