Lullaby Poem by Lacey Saulisbury

Lullaby

Rating: 4.0

When am I forgiven...
of my sins,
my heinous crimes,
my many lives.
I damaged you so deeply,
and this regret that I'm keeping,

Stays.

It stains,
the very core of me is bleeding
tearing the inside.
and the blood spills unto you.
all I see is black now,
as the this sky is clouded,
and painted to my eyes.

You become the moon in this blank canvas of a sky,
I'll leave you with my dust, and quills, and books.
I'll leave you with a lullaby.
to put you to sleep, so you can erase me...
and then I'll fade, I'll dissapear.
and again ink your mind.
I'll disappear to your pure, untouched mind.
but I'm a corrupt creature inside.

And then I'll lay back unto my bed.
staring at the white ceiling over my head.
dreaming of those ivory keys.
the pure delicate bars touched by the sweet feel of you hands,
and the memorizing music in your head.
I'd give anything to play those chords with you again.
the pale grand piano just in reach of your dainty hand.
I breathe. I cant breathe.
and the tears roll down my cheeks.

an empty studio.
a girl there with me.
a pure white piano.
and my hidden feelings.
