I hold a fire -
An inebriating trance
That thwarts the farce
Of the idle shadows.
A steady consummation,
A vexatious breath
As the hearts are dearth with
Waves and lapses.
I am a fixated lunatic
As the gleam in her eyes
Evanesce to the tapestries,
I keep all of them
Like a thief
A connoisseur of thievery
And lunacy.
I chase your visions
As your skirt rustles
Into the crazed bluster
Of the wind
The ides are nigh
And the night quavers into
Bliss as the silken plate
Of the Moon is ephemerally
Guised behind this vale.
You are a river that swills
This vessel – a sordid terrain;
All of me flourishes.
I am a lunatic.
I take little photographs of you:
Your lacquer,
Your cities,
Your posture as you slumber
The contour of your daggers,
The recoil of your smile
As it ebbs like a sea after the tempest
The shameful flagrancy of the
Aeons as they swallow the effulgence
Of the last propitious fray
And that is
The warfare of two souls -
A contender in a room,
On a park bench,
By the curb underneath yellow lights.
I am a lunatic -
This disease signs
The treaty of consummation
To intoxicate all of me.
