Lying Alone Poem by Anderson Greenwald

Lying Alone

As sure as the sun rises in the morning
I find myself awake in dim lit dawn
Lying alone beside myself
Wondering where the old me has gone…

Inside this head ponders a million questions
That deal with the task I am in present
But most of all I ponder just why you come
And why this emptiness relents?

How did I change and what have I done
To deserve this second chance…

It’s like a love that doesn’t fade
It’s like a wall that just disappears
This merriment of my love for you
Overflows the piers…
It’s like a dream too great to believe
It’s like a hole with no fall
Lying alone beside my past
Now doesn’t bother me at all.
