Lying Awake At Night Poem by Sophie Shaw

Lying Awake At Night

When The Sun Is Setting
And The Moon Lights Up The Sky,
When The Stars Make An Appearance
And The House Grows Still,
I Wonder About What You Do To Me
And How I Really Feel.
I Lie In Bed For Hours,
Just Trying To Doze Off,
It's You Who Keeps Me Awake,
You Who Occupies Every Thought,
You That Fills My Soul,
you, Keeping Me Alive Inside.
Staring At My Ceiling,
I Lose Myself In Your Eyes,
Hypnotised By Your Touch,
Dreaming Of Your Soft Lips,
Needing Your Caring Words.
No Longer Do I Lie Awake,
From The Sadness Of My Past.
My Thoughts Of You More Pleasant,
Now That You're In My Life.
Worrying That You Don't Feel The Same,
I Keep My Thoughts To Myself.
However, I Keep Cherishing
The Light You've Given Me.
