Lying In Wait For Spring Poem by Nancy L'enz Hogan

Lying In Wait For Spring

Flower beds are stripped
Patchwork quilts are
sheeted white
Crinkled Grandpa Tvedt, the gnome next door,
will fall back now and sleep
to dream Spring dreams new-borning
of greenly screaming baby trees and
axes in the morning
