Mīļākais Poem by Severine Heads

Mīļākais

the gaps between our whispers are
100 years of dark eyed promises
stretching cavernous in front of us
lightless-
limbless we crawled to this bed
lover
our love is an empty plain in winter
our words extinguish as they fall
ashes into ice
