you made me smile
you made me laugh
I'll love you forever
Why didn't this last

I never thought
you'd leave me so soon
your voice was as loud
as a sonic boom

we held hands
as you said goodbye
you drifted away
up to the sky

as I cried my tears
I held your limp hand
and I spoke to the ears
that couldn't hear my voice

you made me frown
you made me cry
but we cried together
so it was alright

someday I'll see you
when I float away
up to the place
where you left me to stay

then we'll hold hands
together again
and with the angels
we will sing

you've made me smile
you've made me laugh
I'll love you forever
and now this can last
