Sapatami,
Mahasaptami
Dedicated to
The worship of Bhagabati
As Kalratri, Maharatri, Moharatri
Deemed to be in a dreaded form,
Looking frightful and annihilating
With the sword, in the iron guard and covers,
With the lightning around the neck
Taking a grotesque, bizarre rupa
Terrible and horrible one, looking so desperate
The governess of Shani Devi
Riding the ass
To strike down
As for the elimination
Dreaded, tyrannical, over cruel
Demons and devils,
Of Sumbha-Nisumbha and Raktabij,
Negative and darker forces,
Annihilator of terror, horror and unwanted fear,
Doom, gloom, cataclysm
But so much given to calling with
Love, devotion and reverence
And bountiful too
With an inward love for raat-rani blooms
And the scent coming from jasmines
Telling of her grace and divine presence,
Mahayogini, Mahayogeshwari.
