Make My Words Fly Poem by Jared Bradford

Make My Words Fly

Taking a pencil away from me?
Like depriving a soldier
From an M16
With this pencil I can paint
A picture so serene
Or so obscene
I might work jealousy from Da-Vinci
So come with me
Or you can look from a distance
If I should stand trial,
Would you stand as a witness?
Me and history will be made on a basis consistent
Like books written everyday
So persistant
Just try and convict this
I'd love to be at the top of a hitlist
Means i'm doing somethin' worth listenin'
But i'm not here to entertain
I'm just here to fully explain
All of my feelings, all my pain
You better believe it's been one hell of a campaign
But whats funny is I'm just beginning
And once I get my feet, it might be hard to contain
But I'll try my hardest not to complain
When I say every verse, again and again
Written on paper so cheap and thin
But the words, they all mean more than somethin'
All the paper's possibilities, the ideas fillin' me
My minds almost killin' me
But I keep up artwork
That's just the will in me
Try and take away, only something God can do
You don't have that power? Then really who are you?
Just a stone on the side of my road
Might talk big stuff as I walk by
But I just hope you know
Your discretion gives me the fuel
To make my words fly
