Making Mountains Poem by Mary Champion

Making Mountains

MAKING MOUNTAINS

It happens when tectonic plates bump into each other
and get intimate.
Relentlessly they press harder and closer -
incredibly slowly.
After time -
a lot of it -
a mountain is born.
But they all start out as molehills.

Mountain Haiku

Don't ignore molehills -
if you give them enough time
they become mountains.
