Mama - Poem by kennedy musyoka

an heart beat we shared,
on my first breath you were there,
my first cry you heard,
you are the first love I had, brought me to this world, cruel hostile from the peaceful depth of your womb, taught me of the evils we could face and how love conquers all,
gave me a reason to face challenges that may be there, you brought me up wen I was down,
gave me lessons on how
to relate with persons,
held me to your chest,
as an infant the warmth of your hug I felt,
your heart beat I heard,
the sweet rythm-music to my ear,
you might or might not be
but in my heart I know you
