Man And Heart Poem by Ramit Gulati

Man And Heart

Man: Oh Heart! Why thee so full of sadness and remorse?
Heart: It is this darkness that fills me up, for I am cut off from my Master, my source.

Man: What is this source you talk about, lie it where, the earth below or the sky above?
Heart: Everywhere it is, in each moment, in each life, thou may call it God, I just call it Love.

Man: Oh heart! If this love you seek is everywhere, surely it must not be hard to find?
Heart: Not indeed, but won’t let me see it, the fear that blinds, won’t let me seek it, the self that binds.

Man: Ah to be bound and blinded, why not give up on this love then, live with I and things be fine.
Heart: That will not do my friend, let it be (then silently to himself) thou ignorant of your own shackles can’t cut off these chains of mine.
