When bridges break and roads develop pot-holes;
And trains go off their rails, cranes turtle turn;
And nuclear submarines heat up and blow;
And nuclear reactors burst by surprise…
When aero-planes crash down with burst tyres,
Or get bird-hit or collide in the air;
And miners trapped in mines die without breath,
And soldiers get buried by avalanche…
When forests fires raze down woods with lives,
And police jeeps are caught in live landmines,
And drunken drivers raze down pavement-dwellers -
They call them accidents, but made by men!
Some even call them acts of Nature mad;
No one agrees that maintenance was poor;
Gross corruption does have a real role;
Blame carelessness and human apathy!
Most accidents can be avoided still
With presence of mind, anticipation;
But blaming God for human blunders made
Is foolishness to core and will not help.
