I realize I'm not a woman
But I try to be
Surgical procedure?
Nah! That's just for tv
I recognize I'm not a woman
But I try to feel
What a woman feels
If this were for real
I surmise I'm not a woman
But I try to know
What women know
If I had something to show
I understand that fatigue
Is part of one's existence
And I understand a woman
Is both tired a persistent
I think a woman is a child
A daughter, student, a wife, a mother
So is a man when filed
In the same categories as the other
Yet a woman does more
With freedom taking a backseat
Every move is accounted for
Like someone counting the steps of their feet.
What world do they go into
When they disappear into that frame
A frame of so many lights
Each light separated by a name
