Man’s Only Need

Still full of doubt in disarray
The world revolves in shame
Walking her master’s wicked way
Playing his evil game

Her children lost may help refuse
Where hearts fail truth to see
Repudiating Heaven’s news
To set hell captives free

Oblivious to Heaven’s Light
Blind to their Father’s ways
They grow to hate to curse and fight
The Author of their days

Man’s one true need is Jesus
The Lamb who chose to die
Who rose again to lead us
To where no children cry

To where no foot has ever strolled
No bird could ever soar
Through gates of pearl to streets of gold
And through our Father’s Door

To live to reign richer than kings
Healthy wealthy and wise
To rise as if on eagle wings
Beyond our troubled skies

Above the bright blue yonder
Across death’s stagnant stream
Where alone true love can wander
Beyond its wildest dream

No man has heard or ever seen
No human heart conceived
What Heaven’s prepared for Jesus’ queen
Because she has believed
