Man Should Not Cry Poem by Tuwa Noor

Man Should Not Cry

Someone said sometime long before-- man should not cry!
It doesn't resemble him at all.
Men haven't cried since that legendary time.
Even when a loved one dies, he tries to stay as normal as possible.
He provides condolences to others; everyone rests their heads on his shoulders.
When a lover becomes obstinate and turns her face away, does rampage and breaks the twigs like a violent storm,
Man does not cry then
Cry! No, cry does not suit for man!
He becomes silent of different kind
He mourns in different way behind a door in a desolate place.
Look, King Oedipus gouged out his own eyes so he does not have to cry.
Man cries.
Man really cries.
Man cries in secret.
When everyone is asleep or busy in another room,
He cries alone as no one can see.
He cries when he takes a bath, maybe under the shower
or in the river.
The tears are washed away by the water.
And then the heart becomes peaceful.

Who ever said someday, man shouldn't cry.
And it is inherited to him.
Man cries silently so no one knows
no one could realize.
As soon as it is known, he will be sentenced to death!
