Nobody Came! Poem by Tuwa Noor

Nobody Came!

I didn't hear the last few words of George Floyd,
When he was dying with the brutal torture.
His lungs were bursting
His brain was not getting enough oxygen.
He was uttering ‘Mama'!
He knows nobody will come forward to rescue him except his mother,
who used to come to save him when he was a boy.
When he was attacked by cruelty.
He was saying, ‘I can't breathe! '
He was saying, ‘Don't kill me, please. I am claustrophobic! '
His knees were hurting.
His neck was hurting.
His voice was becoming faded and inaudible!
He was asking for some water to drink.

Like I am watching in the Animal planet,
Where a lion is grasping the neck of the buffalo
with his sharp teeth and nails until the pry dies with suffocation.
And others are waiting for the flesh.

Nobody came forward and asked to let him go!
Bring him to the justice what he did was unlawful!

Nobody came!
Nobody shout!
Because there was no human,
There was no humankind.

Nobody Came!
