Man's World At War Past & Now Poem by Tom Zart

Man's World At War Past & Now

Hatred invites moral plight, war and aggression
Encouraged by mistrust, death and dismay.
All we love can be destroyed and transformed
By the powers of darkness maneuvering our way.

When something wicked stares us in the face
To corrupt our morals, faith and resolve.
Honor gives us courage to defend what's right
No matter the sacrifice or danger involved.

What distinguishes war isn't death
But that souls are slain by fellow man.
Crushed by cruelty and injustice
With the enemy's murderous hand.

Once again, we face the evil of man
Who have pledged by their deeds to destroy all
Misusing their judgements as an excuse to kill
As for a retribution their leaders call.

War tends to punish the punishers
So the losers won't suffer alone.
The essence of war is but genocide
Till the survivors come crying home.
