Mansion With Many Rooms Poem by ramona scott

Mansion With Many Rooms

Rating: 4.5

Inside this mansion of many rooms
I listen to earthly sounds
Voices of a world to which
In nine months I'll be bound.

A silver cord connects me to
My cosmic native home
Where this incarnation
will be Scribed
In the Universe's Tome.

Contrary to mortal's beliefs.
Our path we do not choose
It is all random selection
We must take whatever ensues.

I wander down the corridors
Opening each and every door
To get a glimpse of what may come
What adventures may lay in store.

Very few of us will remember
Most memories of here will fade
Thus we descend into your world
Unencumbered yet afraid

We come from a place where all is known
And joy and song abound
There is no pain, no suffering
Its beauty will astound.

Some of us will be bearing gifts
Of knowledge, and of wonder
Others will be there to save those whom
The Dark Ones will put asunder.

We come for varied lengths of time
Depending on the need
Teaching and aiding the mortals
As we protect and intercede.

My time will be short this round
I think it's for eight earth years
During which time it'll be my task
To help a mortal overcome their fears.

Or perhaps it is to strengthen a faith
That has gone long unattended
Or to bring one of us back home
Because they have transcended.

Our reasons and purposes are many
That we leave our Light for yours
To come to your world of darkness
From our mansion with many doors

We are protectors of mankind
From the moment of creation
We have been sent to intervene
To stop mankind's degradation.

We realize that man is no match
For the forces of Darkness
If left unattended vulnerable
To its depravity and starkness

The concept of death/dying
Is a hard one for mortals to take
But its the only way any lifeforce
From its mortal coil, can wake.

Lifeforce is eternal, but it's without form
Enters into a physical plane
In order to conform
To whatever is necessary
To function in the world at hand
Until the task is over
I pray you can understand.

Just remember we walk among you
In all shapes and sizes
We come into your world
And take on different disguises

Also remember just as we are Light
There is another force to be aware
They come from the place of Darkness
Chaos and Despair.

You are not without defenses but
Mortals are a stubborn lot
You have all the knowledge and tools you need
It's just that you believe it not.

I am one of the warriors who will battle
With one who is destroying the young
In your world, I will appear to be a victim
But through me a trap will be sprung

And this evil one will be captured
Putting an end to Its terrible reign
Homeward I will return
Until I'm needed again.
