Margins Poem by James Morrison Steward

Margins

Cast adrift
These little notes
Never found a home
Bullied by neat figures, tasks
And distractions
They appear
Unruly, real and pure

I was too busy to notice
When those three words
Failed to appear
You just wanted my time
To make me smile,
But I left you
In the margins
