Mary, The Mother Of Jesus Lord Poem by Dr John Celes

Mary, The Mother Of Jesus Lord

The love of God had chosen her
She was to bear the son of God
She consented by her free will

She gave birth to the King of Kings
She was the mother of her Lord
Her love for God was so immense

She knew his end was death on cross
Her joyful heart had sorrows much
She bore them all for love of God

She found her boy was so special
He did wonders called miracles
He learnt and told the scriptures well

She suffered bringing up her child
The boy then did his father’s work
The jews charged him with blasphemy

The mother cried when Jesus fell
Her heart was filled by sorrow deep
She bore it all for Maker’s sake

She crushed the serpent by her heel
Her Son redeemed the world’s sinners
Heaven had won the war with hell

She was assumed into heaven
She is now queen of angels all
She prays for sinners’ cause to God
