Maryborough In March Poem by Francis Duggan

Maryborough In March

In the sunny mostly blue sky just a few patches of gray
It is warm so very warm in Maryborough today
The weather temperatures well over thirty degrees
It is even warm in the shade of the trees
On this the twenty second day of March twenty nineteen
In the Town of Maryborough only the gum trees look green
Only clumps of dried grass and the bare earth cracked and dry
And not a rain cloud in the thirsty sky
The creeks flowing at a trickle and bone dry every drain
Central Victoria could well do with a few days of rain
Due to Global Warming and Climate Change
Worldwide the weather of late has been acting quite strange
No animals in the paddocks that are so bare and dry
And the sun glowing warm in the southern sky
