Masterpiece of Ambiguity

I read the product data sheet
with questions in my mind
and hoped amongst the ‘marketing’
some answers to find.

Alas, the answers were not there
for it was evident
that giving useful information
was not the intent.

It would be like saying
the rubber ball is round
but the ball’s diameter
is nowhere to be found.

This sort of ambiguity
is quite a subtle art
looking ‘good’ while having
nothing to impart.

It takes a special skill
saying ‘nothing’ well
so a casual reader
cannot even tell.

The reason is the preservation
of some secrecy
leaving the competitors
with nothing much to see.

Opposing vendors look
quite closely at each word
trying to read a message
intentionally blurred.

If the data sheet is good
‘features’ stand alone
and the ‘how’ of all of it
remains quite unknown.

Lurking in-between the lines
that which is unsaid,
is often more important
than what can be read.
