Maverick Poem by Jevon Wray

Maverick

A spur of the moment

A notion to subtle temperament

A thought born of contempt

Of the weaknesses that tempt,

A thought, notion or spur,

To not live to be what it was meant.

An ideal,

A concept that to the true may appeal

An understanding that truth shall reveal

A man's strength, vigor and zeal

Remaking understandings, concepts and ideals,

Into the actual, the real.

A person with an ultimatum,

Brothers with motivation,

In arms they joined in summation,

Their will, their determination,

To teach themselves and the nations

Thoughts and ideals of liberation

Personal salvation.

A clan that rose clandestine,

A people living outside of time

A generation transcending the boundaries of the mind

A lineage that will become legend

Descending from men that became divine.

A spur of the moment,

A notion to subtle temperament

Remaking understandings, concepts and ideals

Into the actual, the real

Persons with motivation,

Teaching themselves and the nation

Of true liberation, personal salvation

A people born free of time,

A legendary lineage purpose sublime

A spur that became a thought,

A thought that became an ideal

An ideal that became a person

A person joined by brothers became a clan

A clan that inspired a people

A people born from a legend

Of men that became Maverick.
